On the home screen, a complete set leaves “In progress” for the “Completed sets” section just below, with its completion date. Uncheck a piece and it returns to “In progress”.

Each set's progress is shown in ten 10% steps: each one fills with the pieces you find, at 10%, 20%, 30%… When the tenth is filled, the set is complete.
Its thumbnail appears: the step fills with the pieces you have actually found.
At 10%, 20%, 30%… it is full, labeled with its percentage, and the next one begins.
Its framed photo grows, with a dated “Complete” label. The date also appears under the count.

A set's pieces open in the manufacturer's single-piece shop; Pro also turns the missing ones into a list in BrickLink format, to copy and import yourself. The price that counts is theirs: BrickBack takes you there, it does not make one up.
It does not tell you what your collection is worth, never presents a set as a financial operation, and sells nothing. It counts pieces.

What the free version limits: the number of sets and of pieces in your loose bricks, counted once and for all. Never the scanning.

Recognition happens at Brickognize, a third-party service: scanning requires a connection, and every photo leaves your device. To read before you install — that provider's terms grant it a perpetual license over the images it receives, the training of its models included. The app asks for your agreement before the first photo; if you decline, no image leaves, and that agreement can be withdrawn at any time. Details in the privacy policy.
No sign-up, no address to give: your collection lives in your iPhone. Price alerts send a registration, wishlist set numbers and target prices to our server, only when you activate them; turning them off requests deletion. To find it again on another phone, there are three ways. The device's iCloud backup, if it is turned on: an iPhone restored from that backup, with the same Apple Account, finds it again. An export of your data, free at any time, to keep and restore on a new phone (without Pro, within the limits on sets and different loose pieces). And, with BrickBack Pro, iCloud sync: your sets, progress, loose bricks, wishlist and organization are meant to follow your devices, in your own private iCloud space — we have no access to it; it needs a signed-in iCloud account and available storage. Without one of the three, the collection stays on the old device. The subscription follows your Apple Account, and “Restore Purchases” brings it back.
Pro price alerts are available when your App Store account country and iPhone region are both France or both Germany. Enabling them sends the device notification token, a random registration identifier and secret, country, Pro expiration and renewal status, and wishlist set numbers with comparable target prices and currency to our server. Notifications require your permission. Turning alerts off requests deletion of the registration; offline deletion is retried when the network returns. Details and retention periods are in the privacy policy.

Short answers to the questions we are asked before installing.
Yes. BrickBack identifies a LEGO® piece from a photo, then shows which incomplete sets in your collection need it. Scanning is free and unlimited. The free plan counts 2 sets and 30 different loose pieces once and for all; removing them does not free a place.
You photograph it with your iPhone. Brickognize, an online recognition service, identifies the piece; BrickBack shows its image, name, color and part number in the instructions when available. Scanning needs a connection and your agreement before the first photo. You can withdraw that agreement in Settings.
BrickBack lists missing pieces by piece and color, from a catalog of over 28,000 LEGO® sets. Photograph a loose piece: the app shows which of your sets need it. Choose a set, mark the piece as found and watch its progress. “Pieces to buy” lists what is still needed, always up to date, with free Rebrickable and spreadsheet export. Individual-piece prices are shown at the manufacturer’s shop; BrickBack places no orders.
Largely. After the first catalog download, your collection, set contents and missing-pieces lists can be browsed without a connection. Scanning, catalog updates, new-set prices and price alerts require a connection. Price features are Pro, in France and Germany only, with matching App Store account country and iPhone region.
Over 28,000 LEGO® sets, with their contents piece by piece and color by color, from Rebrickable data. Extra pieces included in the boxes are excluded from the count: a set is complete when every piece needed to build it is there.
The free version includes unlimited scanning, 2 sets and 30 different loose pieces, counted once and for all, piece search, possible set origins, box scanning, three set ideas per theme and three sets you may have pieces for from 20 loose pieces. “Pieces to buy” and its Rebrickable/spreadsheet exports are free. Pro removes the set and loose-piece limits and adds all set ideas and filters, wishlist management, collection organization, other list imports/exports, BrickLink/Brick Owl shopping-list exports, printing, set filtering, choice of order and iCloud sync. New-set prices and price alerts require Pro, with both the App Store account country and iPhone region set to France, or both to Germany. Pro offers monthly or yearly subscriptions or a one-time lifetime purchase; your local price is shown before purchase. Full data backup remains free.
No. No sign-up, no address to give: your collection lives in your iPhone and is included in its iCloud backup if you have enabled it. You can export it to a file at any time, free of charge.
On iPhone, running iOS 26 or later. There is no version for iPad or for Android, and no date is announced.
No. BrickBack is an independent app, with no link, contract or approval from the LEGO® Group. It cites the names and numbers of LEGO® sets and pieces descriptively, because that is what it is made for.
Yes. BrickBack is a free download with no time limit on its free version: unlimited scanning, “Search for a piece”, “Where is this piece from?”, “Scan a box”, 2 sets and 30 different loose pieces counted once and for all, and three sets you may have pieces for from 20 loose pieces. “Pieces to buy” and its Rebrickable/spreadsheet exports are free. Pro is purchased inside the app when you decide; nothing is charged before then.
From the iPhone settings, under the subscriptions of your Apple Account. The monthly and yearly plans have no commitment: canceling takes effect at the end of the paid period. The lifetime option is a one-time purchase, with no renewal.
